What’s in the Bag of Camilo Villegas - Winner of the BMW Championship 2008
The BMW Championship was an exciting one with Camilo Villegas finally getting his first PGA Tour win. It seems like everyone is talking about his looks and physique when he's always been a pretty good golfer. Hopefully, he will start to gain some fans based on his golfing skills and not just because of how he dresses from now on!
He actually won wire to wire as he's led the tournament since day one, contining his good play of late. He shot a 2-under 68 for a 2 shot victory on Sunday, beating Dudley Hart and Jim Furyk.
It wasn't all smooth sailing though, as he had back to back bogeys on 2 holes on the front nine where he temporarily lost the lead. The 12th hole was the defining moment because after hitting the ball into the bunker, he hit it out and had a 12 footer for par. Like a champion, he made the putt to save par to hang on to a one shot lead.
This completely changed the momentum because he seized control after this hole, crusing to his first PGA Tour victory!
