PGA Tour Championship 2008 After 2 Rounds
PGA Tour Championship is here this week so who's your favorite? I love first time winners, but someone like David Toms catches my eyes because of his great first name (hey, you can't blame me).
I also like Phil Mickelson's chances, even though he's 4 back. He's had his up and downs today but he's a brilliant player. He must be the favorite by far since Tiger is not in the field.
Sergio Garcia is always a fun player to watch. He's amazing with his irons but almost putts like an amateur with his inconsistency. Once he develops the confidence with that short stick, he will win many majors.
The leader, J.B. Homes is surprisingly leading by 1 stroke! It's great to see that a long hitter like him playing so well in a major because of the killer penalties that a non-accurate shot brings but it's refreshing none the less.
Speaking of refreshing, there are just always more first time major winners for the PGA Tour Championship. For some reason, people aren't as nervous about this tournament as they are other tournaments, which helps first time winners.
It will be fun to watch and one thing is for sure, I'm going to stick around the weekend!

The golfers are calling the course ‘unplayable’. JB is leading using unconventional golf to combat that, and frankly it’s working.
Everyone complains when they aren’t playing well but if people are shooting even par, I don’t see a problem. Everything is measured relative to your peers anyway so as long as it’s fair (ie if you hit a good shot you are rewarded and a bad shot penalized), it’s good enough.
