After the 1st round of the RBC Canadian Open, Mike Weir is leading with a 6 under par first round! Mike is one of the best Canadian golfers out there and is the only one still playing that has a major championship (Masters) under his belt. To say that he is a fan favorite in Canada is an understatement.
Mike must be under tremendous pressure right now because after all, this is his country's open which he's never won before. I hope he's able to draw on his experience that he's gained through his multiple PGA Tour wins and just stay calm and play like he knows how.
Here are some key stats of his first round:
Driving Distance: 280.9
Driving Accuracy: 78.57%
GIR: 72.22%
Putts Per GIR: 1.538
Avg. Proximity to Pin: 33'04"
Scrambling: 75.00%
Other than driving accuracy, all the other stats doesn't seem that great. However, what he's been able to do so far is put it together when it counted the most!
I really hope he wins! Go Mike!

Mike was way behind!
At least be played well on the last few holes.
hey I heard that! There’s a lot of pressure out there and it’s getting harder and harder to win on tour.
