Golfsmith Should Fix Their System to Get More Customers

I received a mailing from Golfsmith the other day with a 15% off a single item coupon inside. As I was contemplating what I should get my wife for her birthday in July, I decided to get her a Cleveland Hibore Fairway Wood to compliment her Hibore hybrid iron set.
2 days ago, I checked the website and found that it was in stock at the closest Golfsmith. The website had the club originally priced at $179.99, and $152.99 with the coupon. I thought about buying it on the website and picking it up at the store but I remember the website charging me $1.00 extra for this service so I decided to go to the store after work yesterday instead.
When I got to the store, I picked up the club and noticed it was selling at $199.99. Not a problem I assumed since they even have a computer that can access the website inside the store so they should honor the price. I ask the sales associate and he said he can match the price so all is still good at this point.
When we get to the checkout counter, he tells me that he cannot apply the coupon as well as match the price because the system won't allow him to do both. The statement was really surprising to me because I'm not asking him to price match from another store but merely from their own website!
"Oh well, I will just have to come back" I said.
It was a bummer because with gas prices so high, some people with the same situation as me might not even go back. In those instances, Golfsmith would've lost one sale and perhaps one customer forever.
I really hope that they will eventually fix this by keeping their website and store pricing the same. This way, their customers are happy and Golfsmith will continue to win their business.

So are you still going to get the club?
I had a similar experience with Golfsmith also. It was sad because I’m sure a manager there could’ve fixed the problem and just matched the price. Sure the system might not let you do both but I’m sure there are workarounds to this.
I say get it. I wish my husband would get me golf clubs too!!!!
Calvin: Yup I still got it today. The price ends up being why I keep going back to this store.
Emily: Don’t worry. I’m sure your husband is thinking about it!
That’s ridiculous. I hate it when stores can’t follow their own rules. I wouldn’t go back if I were you, just buy the club off eBay or Golf Galaxy or something.
That has been a problem with Golfsmith. If they get enough complaints, maybe they’ll do something about it.
I was curious if anyone has tried this Sports Handicapping Service? I saw his video on Youtube and it turns out the service is sold through clickbank which means it comes with a 60 day money back guarantee. Was inquiring what peoples thoughts were.
I am a Gsmith employee. I’m sorry this happened. Did you happen to contact customer service or their facebook page, I know it’s just another hurdle but this type of thing is not suppose to happen. As for the price being 1 thing on the web and another in a store is due to the fact we have different pricing in different markets. A market price should never be higher than a web price though. I suggest contacting them via facebook and explaining. We will fix the problem. It is not bullshit when I say our first priority is the customer, and we will do whatever we can to fix the problem.
Hello, been following your articles latetly and I came across this one. Thanks, it’ll keep me thinking for a while.
I have worked with just about every golf club make and decided these kind of golf clubs might possibly be the finest there exists, along with the newest choices emerging on the picture currently it definately is difficult to decide precisely what to grab. Think I will get a few of them collectively to get used to playing with them to find out if, perhaps they’re really worth purchasing a whole set.
Super-Duper web page! I am loving it!!?! Will appear back again again – taking you feeds also, Many thanks.
